During the Understand phase, the team shared and generated a great deal of knowledge, materials, and opportunities. Boot Up Note Taking is the process of reviewing what’s been generated, collecting thoughts, and preparing to sketch ideas. By giving team members this moment to regroup, they won’t feel rushed and will be able to translate their ideas into visual form.

1. Take some time to review the goals, whiteboards, and everyone’s HMWs.
2. Write a list of ideas that you find compelling and want to explore.
3. Refine these into the 8 ideas that you will sketch.
