Design Sprint Kit

Assign Tasks

Leverage the whole team

During the Prototyping phase, it helps to divide and conquer. Assign roles to each person on the team (Maker, Writer, Reviewer, Interviewer, Documenter, etc.) and make sure everyone is clear on what they’re doing. For example, the Researcher and Project Manager could recruit test participants while the designer creates assets and the engineer builds the prototype.

Script writing is important at this stage as it helps align the storyboard to the user interview and clarifies the structure of what mocks or experiences will be needed in the testing. The script can also help you create a plan for the Validate phase.

Directions:

Time: 30 min
Activity: Group

  1. List all the tasks that need to be completed: mock making, writer, reviewing, scriptwriting for the interview, documenting, etc.
  2. Allocate each task to a sprint participant or form teams of 2-3.
  3. Keep everyone engaged at this time to prevent people from disappearing.
  4. Confirm user validation sessions (these should be scheduled before the sprint).
